About the Role

Service of food and/or beverage to include order-taking and delivery of any food and beverage items. This task is handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner to ensure a very high level of guest satisfaction.

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions.
  • Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • Record order details from guests, repeating the order to confirm accuracy.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale system to inform the kitchen of specifics.
  • Retrieve completed orders from the kitchen, confirm accuracy, and deliver to guests with appropriate condiments.
  • Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
  • Market and serve dessert items or specialty coffees upon request.
  • Assist with clearing and resetting tables.
  • Perform assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Present the check to guests promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security rules.
  • Follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per team member handbook standards.
  • Perform related duties as requested by supervisor and assist other restaurant personnel when needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card or be in the process of certification.
  • Hold a valid TABC license.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Basic English proficiency to understand customer inquiries and communicate simple instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions for safe product use.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment, such as a coffee maker.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room continuously during the shift.
  • Constant standing and walking required.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
