About the Role
This position is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to all health regulations and local liquor laws. You will deliver exceptional guest service, follow brand standards, and ensure promptness and satisfaction for all guests dining in the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner, providing the highest quality service and establishing rapport.
- Understand and follow the guest service recovery program, suggest improvements, and respond to feedback to maximize satisfaction scores.
- Listen attentively, take orders accurately, and use proper serving techniques.
- Stay knowledgeable about specials and promotions, actively up-sell menu items to maximize revenue.
- Adhere to all cash handling and POS procedures, following brand and company standards.
- Complete required side work, including cleaning the restaurant, server stations, coffee stations, trays, and coolers; vacuuming; trash removal; and stocking supplies.
- Follow procedures for handling cash and processing financial transactions while adhering to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Dispense and deliver food and beverages while maintaining a clean and safe work area in accordance with company, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Produce a required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing duties.
- Adhere to attendance policies, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
- Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
- Work as a team player to meet guest needs and actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
- Complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
Requirements
- TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired; ability to obtain certification is required.
- One or more years of previous guest service experience.
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to constantly walk while prepping and delivering food and beverages to guests.
- Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests' needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Requires continuous walking, standing, carrying, and lifting during the shift.
