About the role

John Knox Village features 7 individual dining outlets spread across 400 acres of residential property, each with a unique menu and style of service. Fireside is a cafeteria, Lakeside Grille is a quick service restaurant, Courtyard Café, Places Restaurant, and the newest, Stories Public House and Metropolitan are full service restaurants, while the Coffee Shoppe is also available.

Responsibilities

• Work with a large group of residents/customers.
• Handle cash and operate cash registers.
• Understand and manage cost control responsibilities.
• Work flexible hours including early morning and late night shifts.
• Communicate effectively, speaking in simple sentences.
• Read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide with ease.
• Perform tastings and smellings as needed.
• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.

Requirements

• Candidate must be at least 16 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Food Handler Permit within 15 days of start date.
• ServSafe certification accepted in lieu of.
• Ability to work with a large group of residents/customers.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and register operation.
• Awareness of cost control responsibilities.
• Flexible schedule ability.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to perform tastings and smellings.
• Common sense understanding of instructions.

Qualifications

Benefits

All full-time positions are eligible for benefits including up to 5 weeks of paid time off per year. Each outlet operates on different hours, ranging from 7am to 8pm, ensuring a diverse range of shift options.

Pay

Check averages range from $6.50 at Fireside to $20.00 at Metropolitan. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits including up to 5 weeks of paid time off per year.

Schedule

Shifts vary based on the specific outlet, with the earliest starting at 7am and the latest ending at 8pm. Flexible scheduling allows for a variety of work patterns.
