Restaurant Manager

About the Role

The Restaurant Manager will focus on the main level full-service dining rooms at Westwood Country Club, working closely with the AGM and Senior F&B Manager to ensure a quality dining experience for members and guests. This role is highly visible and hands-on, requiring consistent engagement with members and guests while leading and supporting the service team.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day FOH food and beverage outlets on the upper club level, including 3 dining rooms (Family Casual, Adult Casual, Adult Pub)
• Build and develop a training program to enhance service levels
• Assist in developing the food and beverage department's yearly budget with the AGM, review financial reports, and take corrective actions as needed
• Responsible for POS updates and menu programming
• Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff
• Conduct inventories of beverages, supplies, dinnerware, and glassware as needed
• Ensure all food and beverage staff are presentable, well-groomed, and in established uniforms
• Enforce all club rules and regulations
• Engage with and mentor team members to improve member service and experience
• Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling FOH food and beverage staff

Requirements

• Passion for F&B service and standards, with a focus on establishing a positive family-oriented culture
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of wine and wine service
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a positive hospitality-oriented demeanor
• Hands-on management style, motivated by the success of teammates
• Ability to keep up with F&B trends and balance fine dining with upscale, relaxed service
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to hold teammates accountable
• Ability to communicate with members and guests professionally

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality, restaurant, or customer service environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Excellent hospitality and member service mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Private club, resort, country club, or upscale hospitality experience preferred

Westwood Country Club is a private member-owned Club located in Vienna, Virginia, offering a variety of full-service dining rooms, an 18-hole championship golf course, fitness center, indoor and outdoor racquets facility, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The Club recently completed over 26 million dollars in renovations and is on a substantial waitlist for members to join.
