Restaurant Manager
The Ocean House Collections includes three luxury properties: Ocean House with 49 guest rooms and 18 suites, The Cottage Collection featuring 10 privately owned vacation homes, and a 12,000 square-foot Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star spa. The collection offers over 10,000 square feet of meeting space and up to eight unique dining options during the summer season, including the Forbes 5-Star rated Coast.
The Weekapaug Inn combines casual comfort with luxurious furnishings, offering 24 unique guest rooms and signature suites. It features farm-to-table dining with locally sourced ingredients and resort activities designed for extraordinary guest experiences.
About the role
The Food and Beverage Manager at The Weekapaug Inn oversees the restaurants, in-room dining, the Bathhouse, banquets, and pool services. This hands-on role ensures high standards of food and beverage quality, service, and merchandising to maximize profits while maintaining a strong floor presence during service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion of management duties including scheduling, payroll, inventories, and administrative tasks.
- Train and hold staff accountable to Forbes and Relais & Chateaux standards.
- Provide floor coverage across all outlets and oversee service standards to ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience.
- Assess staff performance, produce reports, and assign tasks based on daily activity logs.
- Conduct daily shift briefings and ensure staff create positive, memorable guest experiences.
- Enforce proper cash/credit card handling procedures and operating standards.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
- Ensure staff adhere to company policies on grooming, appearance, and dress code.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock in bars, lounges, and ensure prompt execution of room service orders.
- Manage performance evaluations for hourly staff, identifying training needs and ensuring effective development.
- Promote and practice the Company’s Statement of Purpose, Service Excellence Pillars, and Declarations.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to the Company’s programs.
- Perform additional duties within the spirit and scope of the role as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a luxury hospitality setting, preferably in a five-star environment.
- Banquet and function experience preferred.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with staff at all levels.
- Ability to manage, train, and schedule a large seasonal team to meet five-star standards.
- Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple, simultaneous, and challenging tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy under pressure.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to uphold company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using sound judgment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality.
- One year of previous luxury hotel operations experience preferred.
Schedule
The operation runs 24/7, including holidays. Exempt staff may be required to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands, including more than eight hours per day and five consecutive days. Weekend work (Friday through Sunday) and holidays are mandatory, especially during peak season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day). Flexibility is key to growth and earning potential.
