Restaurant General Manager

About the role

The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets McDonald's critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurant's goals and creates a plan to achieve the goals. To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager leads a team of Department Managers that has specific responsibilities in the restaurant. This means helping the Department Managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their Departments. By improving the Departments, the restaurant improves!

Responsibilities

• Oversee other Managers, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit
• Lead Departments, which may include managing assigned Systems like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management
• Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results back to team and other managers
• May be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to make sure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future

Department Manager responsibilities

• Guest Service Department Manager: Making sure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are done well, that all service staff are trained in service procedures, and that the Front Counter, McCafé and Drive-Thru areas are organized for the best service
• Kitchen Department Manager: Making sure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers, and fast, that food is always safe, that food cost is controlled, and that all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new items that are added to the menu
• People Department Manager: Making sure the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals. Also making sure Crew get off to a good start at the restaurant and that they are recognized and motivated throughout their time working there

Requirements

• Previous General Manager experience running high volume locations
• Background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail
• Previous General managerial experience, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment
• Positive team players with flexible schedules who like to have fun, with the passion to work the famously fast paced McDonald's environment
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our corporate owned and operated restaurants
