Restaurant, Catering, and Concessions Manager

About the role

The Cornell Dining Restaurant, Catering, and Concessions Manager oversees the operations of Moakley House, a dining facility on Cornell University's campus. This role involves managing catering events, leading the Concessions team, and fostering a supportive and learning-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of catering events within Moakley House
• Maintain and enhance programs and services provided by both Concessions and Moakley House
• Develop strategies for revenue generation and operational efficiencies for the Concessions team
• Support the growth of current and future business through business development
• Work closely with senior leadership on shared goals
• Guide staff in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment
• Foster a supportive and learning-focused culture among staff and students
• Ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and food safety regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two to three years of related experience, or the equivalent
• Two years of food service catering supervisory experience required
• Leadership, supervisory, coaching, communication, and customer-service skills are essential
• Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences
• Strong proficiency in Excel

Qualifications

• Experience and confidence in off-premise catering or concessions service
• Ability to work long and varied hours
• Knowledge of food safety and health codes

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $72,209.00 - $77,625.00 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
