Restaurant Bartender - Part Time

About Our Property
The Hanover Inn has a rich legacy of hospitality dating back to 1780, when it first welcomed guests as a tavern. Notable guests have included Presidents Monroe, Wilson, F.D.R., Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. Entertainers such as Kirk Douglas, Ella Fitzgerald, Joan Baez, Art Linkletter, Mary Tyler Moore, Burt Bacharach, Duke Ellington, Lillian Gish, and B.B. King have stayed or performed here. The inn has also hosted writers like F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, Sinclair Lewis, Carl Sandburg, Robert Frost, and Dr. Seuss.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily
- Guide guests on their beverage journey through descriptive selling of the menu
- Be accurate in order taking, confirming all special requests
- Master the details of the bar to enhance guest conversations
- Work collaboratively with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
- Assist guests with concerns to guide them to a resolution that leaves them happy
- Finalize the experience through timely and accurate bill presentation
- Requisition and stock all beer, wine, and spirits
- Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard ingredient recipes and practice portion control
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest
- Lock up and store all beverages, food, and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure the bank
Requirements
- Engaging and welcoming personality
- Current bartender’s certification or appropriate license
- Knowledgeable in the latest trends around mixology
- Descriptive selling skills
- 2-4 years of bartender experience
- Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
- Excellent communication skills
Pay
$10 per hour
