Restaurant Bartender

Starting rate: $14.00 per hour + tips. Effective 8/9/2026, the rate will increase to $15.00 per hour for all employees.

About the role

As a Restaurant Bartender, you will prepare and serve drinks at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center’s State Room Restaurant. You will also serve food to guests at the bar and in the lounge area, ensuring outstanding customer service for all patrons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages to guests.
• Serve food to guests at the bar and in the lounge area.
• Provide outstanding customer service in a high-end, full-service restaurant environment.
• Work weekdays, weekends, some holidays, and all MSU home football and basketball games.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of bartending experience and 2 years of serving experience (1+ years in a high-end, full-service restaurant preferred).
• Must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol.
• Available to work weekdays, weekends, some holidays, and all MSU home football and basketball games.
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Positive and respectful attitude, especially when serving a diverse population.
• Must be able to move up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe Alcohol certification.

Pay

$14.00 per hour + tips (increasing to $15.00 per hour effective 8/9/2026).

Schedule

• Weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
• All MSU home football and basketball games.
