About the role

Vitality Bowls is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Manager. The ideal candidate will act as a manager when the manager is unavailable, in charge of shifts and delegating tasks, restocking the register nightly, taking deposits to the bank, assisting with inventory and scheduling, and performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • In charge of shifts and delegating tasks
  • Restock the register nightly for the correct change
  • Take deposits to the bank several times a week and maintain an accurate count of petty cash
  • Aid in managing inventory and placing orders
  • Aid in writing the schedule and collecting information from employees about schedule issues
  • Aid in marketing activities both online and offline
  • Lead the team, ensuring food is made accurately and taken to customers in a timely manner
  • Train other team members as needed
  • Perform delivery of occasional catering orders if needed
  • Show exemplary knowledge of the job and excellent customer service
  • Deal with upset customers/problems with food in a polite way, making sure the customer is happy
  • Accept deliveries, ensuring they are complete and correct or issuing refunds as necessary
  • Communicate with managers/owners about inventory status, employee performance, and new ideas
  • Manage the break schedule, ensuring employees are arriving on time and taking appropriate breaks
  • Attend management meetings
  • Communicate with managers/owners about new ideas, such as better methods to improve efficiency, safety, and new recipe ideas
  • Assist with interviews, evaluations, and training
  • Maintain a clean and work-appropriate personal appearance
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers
  • Practice cost-cutting measures
  • Pitch in and work as a team
  • Track food quality
  • Handle special circumstances
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the food and recipes, following recipes and preparing food in a timely and sanitary manner
  • Prep food according to proper procedures
  • Continuously and thoroughly clean the kitchen and lobby
  • Put away deliveries and keep everything organized
  • Washing dishes and putting them away
  • Communicate with other staff to ensure orders are made correctly and in a timely manner
  • Carry out food to customers
  • Show up on time and take breaks for the appropriate length of time
  • Complete all opening and closing duties
  • Follow sanitation guidelines
  • Stock and rotate food
  • Adhere to safety procedures
  • Have excellent customer service, including being positive and extremely polite and informative to customers, as well as giving accurate wait times
  • Assist and ring up guests, answer phone calls, and take orders over the phone
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the food and recipes, being “fitness and nutritionally minded” to understand customer needs
  • Keep the front lobby and outside area clean
  • Be friendly and fast, making a great first impression, showing a sense of urgency, and striving to minimize wait times
  • Know your stuff, becoming knowledgeable about Vitality Bowls menu, preparation methods, and nutritional values of ingredients
  • Show pride in your work, looking sharp, being on time for shifts, and having reliable transportation to the store

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Vitality Bowls menu and preparation methods
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare food in a timely and sanitary manner
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work well with others
  • Basic computer and POS system skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy boxes, and move quickly
  • Experience in a restaurant setting is a plus
