Restaurant Assistant Manager
About the role
Penn Station is looking for a motivated assistant manager to join our team. The goal is to run your own store—many of our General Managers are promoted from the Assistant Manager position. You’ll assist the General Manager with daily operations while learning how to run a high-volume restaurant, direct team workflow, interact with customers, and prepare food.
A successful Assistant Manager oversees a team, facilitates smooth workflow, exhibits strong problem-solving abilities, and displays sound judgement. You’ll help set the pace for the crew by maintaining high energy, positivity, and a sense of urgency, while ensuring quality control and sustained customer satisfaction through effective employee training and implementation of company policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with daily operations
- Direct the workflow of team members
- Interact with customers and prepare food
- Oversee a team and facilitate smooth workflow
- Resolve issues with strong problem-solving and judgement
- Maintain high energy, positivity, and a sense of urgency
- Work closely with the GM on employee training and company policies
- Ensure quality control and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Leader, or similar role in retail or restaurants
- Reliability and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Confident problem-solver and team player
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to close the restaurant regularly and open occasionally
