About the role

The RESS Quality Manager will develop operational quality plans that directly support the organization’s business strategies and impact business unit results. This role involves leading a team, providing employee development, monitoring training, driving the performance management process, and managing organizational structure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop operational quality plans to align with business strategies and drive business unit results.
  • Lead a team, including employee development, training oversight, and performance management.
  • Identify and lead staffing initiatives for the RESS Quality team, including facilitating group meetings, communicating GM policies and procedures, and delivering safety messages.
  • Communicate vision and strategy through presentations and other means.
  • Ensure employees complete all corporate and function-specific training.
  • Support employee career development goals and execute initiatives to improve team capability and capacity.
  • Actively participate in the RESS HRM committee.
  • Assign and balance workloads for direct reports, prioritize tasks, and make decisions on resource allocation, including employee assignments and overtime compensation.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization, including segment stakeholders, other functions, and suppliers.
  • Assess supplier quality and its impact on RESS assembly production.
  • Collaborate with department and plant leaders to develop creative solutions.
  • Inspire organizational acceptance of new concepts, practices, and approaches.
  • Summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate them to leadership.
  • Analyze and resolve complex quality issues to reduce plant disruptions.
  • Work flexible, extended, and non-core hours to ensure issue resolution.
  • Solve problems and implement innovative strategies.
  • Provide leadership in GM Quality Systems to meet business objectives.
  • Lead GMS (Global Manufacturing System) execution and improvement.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (Global Quality Manual, GMS, BIQ).
  • Drive productivity improvements and technology deployment.
  • Partner with HQ resources and external stakeholders for success.
  • Influence internal and external functions without direct authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of Quality Systems experience.
  • High level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to interact with all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Experience in RESS Assembly Systems (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of Quality functions.
