PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Aid residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and bed making.
- Show knowledge of residents based on their background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and attention span.
- Participate in service plan updates.
- Assist with meal service.
- Know and adhere to all resident rights.
- Receive and provide a shift report during shift change, both orally and in writing.
- Observe and report any changes in a resident's condition (behavior or health), ensuring their safety and reporting changes to the Wellness Nurse or Supervisor.
- Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
- Inspect resident rooms daily for cleanliness and remove fall hazards; check common areas for cleanliness.
- Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) as necessary, following state regulations.
- Support residents with medication administration and participate in narcotic counts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with a current/active certification - required.
- One year of Long Term Care experience - preferred.
- Retail Pharmacy (RP) on cart must pass a medication test with at least an 85% score to achieve competency - required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with team members, residents, and the public.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- The ability to make independent decisions and handle difficult situations.
- The ability to work harmoniously with all team members and maintain a positive attitude.
- The ability to handle challenging patients/residents with patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
- The willingness to learn new methods and principles and apply them to nursing practices.
- No direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
