Respite Care Provider
About the role
Community Horizons is assisting a Sugar Camp gentleman in looking for a compassionate and energetic Respite Provider to deliver vital short-term care and support to an individual with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, such as autism. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, live fulfilling and supported lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision during scheduled respite periods, ensuring safety at all times
- Support medication administration according to established care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on individual dietary needs, following proper food safety practices
- Offer gentle reminders for personal hygiene, including showering as needed
- Engage in meaningful activities such as outings, recreational activities, and gym visits
Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable around cats and dogs

Pay
The wage for this position is $16.32 per hour.
Schedule
This is an "as-needed" respite role, providing coverage when primary caregivers are traveling or taking personal time. Scheduling will vary based on family needs.
