About the Role

As a Respite At Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enriching the quality of life for clients by assisting with personal care, light exercise, meal preparation, housekeeping, reporting health changes, providing companionship, responding to emergencies, accompanying clients during shopping trips, reminding clients about medication, and assisting with mobility and ambulation.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid drivers license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Training in first aid and emergency response (provided if needed)
• Excellent time management skills
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes
• Physical endurance for tasks like carrying groceries and supporting a client
• Ability to perform housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to dietary constraints
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards

• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
