Respiratory Therapy Technologist

About the role

Under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist or licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapy Technologist provides respiratory support to patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities. Responsibilities include administration and monitoring of all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service’s scope of practice, with a primary focus on conducting Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) at the MAP practice and, as needed, at the Hutch location. Travel to other locations may be required based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory support to patients with abnormalities of cardiopulmonary function.
• Administer and monitor diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care modalities.
• Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) primarily at the MAP practice and at the Hutch location as needed.
• Operate equipment including Pasteurmatic for cleaning and disinfection of non-disposable respiratory care equipment, oxygen and air cylinders, and regulators.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory therapist program.
• Current New York State respiratory therapist license.
• CRTT or RRT certification, or registry-eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
• One year of experience required.

Pay

Hourly rate of $33.97. For positions with only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but may be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education, or other relevant factors.
