Respiratory Therapy Intern

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL | Facility: Ascension Alexian Brothers | Department: Respiratory Care | Schedule: Rotating shift, PRN | Salary: $22.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide supervised evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies within the student scope of practice.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, adjusting care based on clinical outcomes and patient response.
• Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team, ensuring accuracy in all records.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, prescribed medications, and treatment protocols to support recovery.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• High school diploma equivalency OR enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
