About the role
Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Albuquerque campus as a part-time Clinical Instructor.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of student externships and ensuring diverse clinical experiences.
- Maintenance of student attendance, supervision, and evaluation of performance.
- Evaluation and reinforcement of program techniques, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Serving as a liaison between PMI and hospital administrators, resolving concerns professionally and promptly.
- Maintaining compliance with PMI policies and clinical facility regulations.
- Maintaining current clinical practice and staying informed of industry changes.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited institution.
- Graduation from a CHEA or USDE-recognized accredited Respiratory Therapy program OR minimum 4 years of job-related Respiratory Therapy training and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in hospital or clinical Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Current New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Advanced degrees in related fields (physicians, pharmacists, nurses, pulmonary function technologists).
