Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator
About the role
A Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator trains RT staff on new research, procedures, equipment, and best practices for respiratory care, developing programs, assessing skills, mentoring, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The position is at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a 443‑bed, full‑service acute care hospital serving Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties. The facility is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and the nation’s first hospital to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Pancreatic/Hepatic/Biliary Cancer Certification. It also operates a Campus for Continuing Care with behavioral health, addiction recovery, inpatient rehabilitation, and long‑term acute care services. Responsibilities
- Train respiratory therapy staff on new research, procedures, equipment, and best practices.
- Develop training programs.
- Assess staff skills.
- Mentor staff.
- Ensure high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program; Bachelor or Master Degree in Respiratory Care or Related Field preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the state of Texas; Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (American Academy of Pediatrics); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (American Heart Association).
- Work Experience: 3 years clinical experience required.
