Respiratory Therapist - Virtual RT - Nights

Responsibilities

• Functions independently or collaboratively with physicians or other healthcare providers.
• Coordinates all respiratory care services throughout the patient’s life cycle, including direct patient care, patient family education, and transitions of care through teamwork and communication.
• Assesses patients' conditions and communicates effectively to the care team regarding changes in condition, diagnostic study results, symptoms, and treatment responses.
• Provides leadership through mentorship, student educator roles, committee involvement, and professional quality improvement projects.
• Operates within department/institutional procedures and guidelines, adhering to AARC guidelines to function independently using critical thinking to master skills such as cardiopulmonary assessment, mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, arterial line insertion, airway management, RT bedside procedures, assisting providers with bedside procedures, managing specialty gases, RT-driven protocols, and external education support.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy.
• National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential and active Minnesota Respiratory Therapist License (LRT) required before first day of employment and must be maintained throughout duration of employment.
• National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must be maintained throughout duration of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) where applicable.
• Additional life support certifications may be required by site of hire.
