Respiratory Therapist - St John's - 0.7 Evening

Job Overview

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our St. Johns Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. This position includes a $10,500 sign on bonus!

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician.
• Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies.
• Collates, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.

Requirements

• A.A./A.S. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
• Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Exception: New Graduates must complete their RRT within 6 months of hire
• Those with CRT issued by the NBRC must have 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in a clinical setting
• Respiratory Therapists working at M Health Fairview Facilities – supplemented by defined contract staffing agency – temporary
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (American Heart Assoc)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc)

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
• Experience in Respiratory Therapy

Skills

• Ability to assess patient needs and identify expected outcomes
• Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care
• Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes
• Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient
• Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment

Shift Differential Incentives

• $4.00/hr for nights
• $2.00/hr for weekends
