RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RT) FULL TIME NIGHTS

About the role

AMG Specialty Hospital - Lafayette is offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full Time Respiratory Therapist for Night Shifts. We are located in the heart of South Lafayette on the 4th floor of Park Place Surgical Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting
• Ability to communicate with physicians, CCO/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision

Requirements

• Completion of an approved respiratory care program
• Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Minimum of one to three years of related work experience
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English

Medical conditions commonly treated

• Respiratory Failure requiring ventilation, vapotherm, high flow, bipap, cpap, and nasal cannula
• Patients requiring sedation/pain management, pressor management, and cardiac/anti-arrhythmic management
• Complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics
• Chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatment with wound vacs and frequent dressing changes
