Job Summary

PRN DAYS. The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Care Program
• Preferred Experience: Some experience in respiratory care or related area
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Possession of current RCP State of Texas License; Possession of current CRT or RRT Certification from NBRC (Renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
• Required Courses/Completions:
  • Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
  • AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering Pedi
  • AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering NICU
