About the role

You’ll be the respiratory expert in the building, providing hands-on care and working directly with nursing and physicians to improve resident outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on respiratory care (nebulizer treatments, assessments, airway clearance, etc.)
  • Track resident progress and adjust care plans accordingly
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to optimize outcomes

Requirements

  • Active Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) in good standing
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working with residents in ventilator units (or obtain within six months of hire)
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

  • Knowledge of general clinical services and respiratory care practices
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and exercise sound clinical judgment
  • Professional handling of complex or difficult situations
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards in patient care

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Position requires walking for approximately 10–12 hours per day
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and manual handling of equipment
  • Work performed under varying temperatures and environmental conditions
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required to meet operational needs
  • Ability to tolerate high-pressure and fast-paced clinical environments
  • Requires talking, hearing, seeing, and fine motor coordination for patient care and equipment management
