About the role

Join our dedicated Respiratory Therapy team at HRMC, a 154-bed facility offering a full range of services including general surgery, women's care, intensive care, and emergency services. Your skills, compassion, and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Requirements

  • Credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NRBC) required (60-day grace period for new graduates).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Qualifications

  • NC Registered Respiratory Therapist and graduate of a school of respiratory therapy.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

$15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Schedule
