About the Role
Responsible for acute airway management in emergent situations, setting up and managing non-invasive monitoring, assisting with discharge planning, and performing various therapeutic modalities.
Responsibilities
- Affirms patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interactions
- Performs and documents thorough patient assessments
- Establishes and communicates appropriate care plans
- Assists with routine care and maintenance of artificial airways
- Initiates and manages conventional and high frequency mechanical ventilators
- Provides patient and family education related to disease management
- Assists with intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients
- Collaborates with other members of the patient care team
- Assists with fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures
- Plays a role in the placement of invasive monitoring lines and obtaining hemodynamic measurements
- Assists in the intra-hospital transport of age-specific patient groups
- Functions as a preceptor for orientees and students
Requirements
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program
- Certified Respiratory Therapist - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Pediatric Life Support Certification within 6 months - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months - Default Issuing Body
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within one year of hire - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Qualifications
- Experience in acute airway management
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families
- Proficiency in mechanical ventilator management
- Strong organizational and documentation skills

Pay
Competitive rates and up to $5.50/hr shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
