Respiratory Therapist PRN
Summary of Job Duties
Schedule: PRN (6:30a-7p; 6:30p-7a). This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) works under physician direction and under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager. They are a professional who works within the limits of their license and credentials adhering to institutional and departmental policies, procedures and standards. The Registered Respiratory Therapist is required to provide quality patient care, promote a healthy work environment, and project a positive image for UAMS Medical Center.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma plus 2 years direct respiratory care experience OR an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care.
- Applicant must be a RRT
- Applicant must hold a current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP)
- Current National Board of Respiratory Care Credential
- BLS certificate
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory care
- ACLS certificate
Responsibilities
- Calls for or physically moves equipment and medical supplies needed into the assigned work area.
- Performs routine treatments including but not limited to: Updrafts, MDI, CPT, AMB, Incentive spirometry, IPV, Patient Education, Ventilator set up and management.
- Enter patient treatment in echart system and/or places documentation in patient charts
Additional Information
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
