Respiratory Therapist - PRN

About the role

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support. The role involves setting up, monitoring, and weaning oxygen and artificial ventilation, analyzing arterial blood gases, and assisting with airway management, all following physician orders and policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced respiratory procedures.
• Document clinical information accurately.
• Educate patients and staff on treatments and procedures.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and tailor care based on patient needs.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and NBRC registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS within 90 days.

Skills

• Proficient in computer use, software applications, and effective communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to diverse patient populations.

Physical and environmental demands

Weight handling, prolonged sitting or standing, exposure to biological hazards; requires manual dexterity and flexibility.
