Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level I - Nights

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

About the role

Per Diem Level I Respiratory Therapist position at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks, with 24 of those hours on the weekend. Schedule includes nights (7pm - 7:30am) Monday through Friday, with holiday requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities; transcribe verbal or phone orders by physicians
• Communicate clearly to patients and families about the treatment being performed
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy, with special attention to pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

Requirements

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry-eligible status
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
