Respiratory Therapist (Per Diem)
About the role
As part of the Respiratory Team at BID Milton you will be required to work independently to initiate, monitor and discontinue both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support. Other responsibilities include active participation in Rapid response and Code Blue pages, airway care, tracheostomy care, nebulizer therapy, chest physical therapy, obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gas samples. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to assess and provide optimum patient care. This position is per diem, with various hours and shifts available.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessment, diagnostic testing, prescribed treatment and care of the respiratory therapy patient
- Evaluates effectiveness of treatment and maintains department records
- Must be able to work independently
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory care or qualified by experience and state licensure
- Registered, or registry eligible, certified or certification eligible preferred
- Current Massachusetts licensure
- BLS Certification required, ACLS certification preferred
- Computer literate/telephone/copy machine/fax
- Excellent verbal communication skills/customer service oriented/able to perform with distractions in a fast paced environment
Pay
$39.59 - $58.83 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
