Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem 2 - Days

Position: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Days
Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Schedule

Per Diem Commitment Level 2: 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule. Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 7:00am-7:30pm. 1 weekend and 1 holiday shift during 6-week period, required. Holidays are scheduled with A/B rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

Requirements

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
