About the Role

Responsible for the overall clinical, technical, and administrative functions at the assigned location for the Home Respiratory Therapist program. This includes the installation, delivery, and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment, provision of supplies, and ongoing patient and equipment assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical contact for physicians, healthcare practitioners, and others involved in patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records, including charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, and preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Manage and update inventory of all company assets and supplies.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with accreditation standards (vehicle expenses covered by the company).
  • Update demographic information regularly and ensure compliance with regulatory rules and guidelines.
  • Orient and train newly hired respiratory therapist staff and service technicians.
  • Adhere to cost-containment policies and ensure prompt, accurate billing and documentation to meet third-party payor guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clinical, managerial, and sales teams to promote and market home respiratory therapy services.
  • Ensure proper, safe operation of all equipment before installation.
  • Provide on-call availability for patient needs on a rotating schedule with fellow respiratory therapists.
  • Work with team members (other RTs, Patient Care Coordinators, and departments) to complete tasks.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Medical or respiratory therapy experience.
  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel to patient homes for equipment setup and servicing.

  • Financial management and presentation skills.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position involves traveling to patient homes to set up and service medical devices.
