About the role
Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) responsible for assessing, planning, performing, and evaluating patient respiratory care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments
- Develop care plans
- Perform therapeutic modalities (e.g., aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, artificial airway care)
- Manage mechanical ventilation
- Assist with patient transport, emergency airway management, and intra-hospital transfers
- Provide patient and family education
- Collect arterial blood gases
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Support procedures such as fiberoptic bronchoscopy and invasive monitoring
- Function as Shift Coordinator and preceptor for students and new staff
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
Skills
- Proficiency in ventilator management
