About the role
As a Respiratory Therapist with Corewell Health, you can help patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably. You'll collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.
- Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
- Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
- Performs point of care testing as required.
- Performs advanced evaluation, management, and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
- Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
- Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
- Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
- Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
- Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel, and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
- 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education
- State of Michigan Respiratory Therapist License (Upon Hire)
- CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care (Upon Hire)
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association (90 Days, required for Regional Hospitals and NICU)
- CRT-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association (90 Days, required for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab)
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (90 Days)
Ideal candidate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. RT Students, CRTs, and RRTs may apply.

Pay
This position may be combined with another Part-Time position at Butterworth, Helen DeVos, or Blodgett while offering benefits and a $15,000 sign-on bonus (based on the primary position, if interested).
