Respiratory Therapist – New Brighton, MN
About the role
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with patients and families while maintaining strong collaboration with your branch team. You’ll enjoy a hands-on, patient-focused position that combines in-branch responsibilities with field-based care, allowing for autonomy, meaningful relationships, and impactful education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups.
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Assess patient needs, document care delivered and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
- Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
- Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gather vital signs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active MN RT license. WI and IA RT License preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Open to various experience levels; preference for experienced candidates.
- DME experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
- Hold a current CPR Certification.
- Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and techniques.

Pay
Salary range $36 - $45/hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
Schedule
On-site with field visits. Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Driving Requirement: ~10 hours per week. Coverage Area: Up to 2.5 hours south and 2 hours north of the New Brighton branch; will also support the Rochester, MN branch.
