Respiratory Therapist – Memphis, TN

About the role

This role offers a balance of time in the branch and time in the field, allowing you to develop both patient-facing clinical skills and strong workflow independence. You'll provide essential respiratory care, equipment setup, patient education, and clinical support, playing a key role in ensuring safe transitions from hospital to home.

Schedule

• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Work Arrangement: On-site; approximately 50% in the branch and 50% in the field
• Territory Coverage: Up to 3 hours’ driving distance from the branch
• Rotating on-call coverage every week; responsibilities include phone support and patient home visits as needed

Pay

Salary Range: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, and gathering vital signs
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active TN and MS RT license
• Ability to obtain and maintain Arkansas Respiratory Therapist licensure
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
