Primary Responsibilities
- Holds 24 hour authority, responsibility and accountability for Respiratory Care on the patient care units.
- Coincides interdepartmental services and provides clinical supervision of staff respiratory care practitioners, students and supervisors.
- Develops and oversees the departmental and respiratory program policies, procedures and standards and ensures that they are compliance with JCAHO, CARF, DPH, and other organizations.
- Actively participates in the development of specialty programs related to pulmonary care.
- Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Participates in inter-disciplinary meetings.
- Participates in the retention, recruitment and hiring process in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services.
Prerequisites
- Graduate of NBRC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Bachelor Degree required.
- Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Massachusetts.
- CRTT (registry eligible); RRT, RCPT preferred.
- Three years’ minimum supervisory experience.
- Previous experience as adult educator with emphasis on public speaking.
- Previous geriatric and rehabilitation experience.
- Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
