Job Overview
Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Therapy team at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. They are offering a $9,000 sign-on bonus.
About the Role
The Respiratory Therapist provides diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. They follow defined treatment protocols according to department policies. They collect, assess, interpret, and intervene in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. They ensure patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.
Responsibilities
- Perform pulmonary function tests on ages 5 years and older.
- Conduct 6-minute walk tests, ABGs, methacholine testing, pre/post spirometry, DLCO, MIP/MEP, MVV, pleth, nitrogen washout.
- Assess patient needs and identify expected outcomes.
- Implement respiratory interventions based on the plan of care.
- Evaluate care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Deliver care as delegated by a physician or authorized practitioner to assigned patient populations or individual patients.
- Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Operate and maintain all respiratory care equipment.
Requirements
- A.A./A.S. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field.
- Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field (preferred).
- Experience in Respiratory Care/Therapy (preferred).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (preferred).
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of respiratory care equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
The pay range for this role is between $40.00 - $60.00 per hour. The actual pay will be determined by various factors including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
Schedule
This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. There is currently an every 3rd weekend requirement.
Shift Differential Incentives
- $4.00/hr for nights.
- $2.00/hr for weekends.
