Respiratory Therapist II Phoenix Campuses

About the role

The position facilitates and administers respiratory care, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. It ensures care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. This position also participates in executing quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients across inpatient units, critical care settings, emergency services, and specialty programs
• Perform a wide range of routine and advanced respiratory procedures
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity and specialty care environments
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain the high standards of care that define Phoenix Children’s organization

Requirements

• Hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC
• Possess (or be eligible to obtain) an Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license prior to hire
• PALS certification is preferred
• AARC membership is encouraged

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program
• Post graduation experience in a hospital environment (preferred)

Skills

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
