Respiratory Therapist II

About the role

Sentara Health is recruiting for a Full Time, Day Shift Respiratory Therapist at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC. Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for full-time qualified candidates and up to $10,000 for part-time qualified candidates is available. Relocation, moving allowance, and housing allowance are available to candidates outside the geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients in various settings, including acute care, intensive care, and home care.
• Perform diagnostic tests and administer treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Train and educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Non-degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006, and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials may also be considered.
• State license, active NBRC RRT, and BLS required at time of hire.
• New graduates must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.

Qualifications

• Experience in respiratory therapy preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficient in using respiratory therapy equipment and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
