Respiratory Therapist I (NYC) - Nights

About the role
Join the Respiratory Therapy team and provide top-level care to patients. You will consult with healthcare practitioners to manage or prevent cardiopulmonary disorders, assess patient conditions, ensure therapy appropriateness, and educate patients and families on respiratory treatments.
Responsibilities
- Render respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.
- Consult with and aid other healthcare practitioners in the management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders with minimal direction.
- Assess patient’s condition and follow up to ensure appropriateness of therapy.
- Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory treatment and therapy.
- Assist in providing education to other departments regarding respiratory therapies and modalities.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
- Current NBRC Credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Pediatric/PICU experience preferred.

Schedule
Night Shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), nights vary, includes weekends and rotating holidays.
Pay
$47.23 – $75.59 per hour. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
Location: Main Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY. Reporting to the Supervisor, Respiratory Therapist.
