About the role

Responsibilities

  • Function as a clinical consultant, delivering extensive respiratory care practices throughout the hospital.
  • Provide all aspects of invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor and manage patients with artificial airways.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Critical Care, Women & Children’s & NICU Unit, Emergency/Trauma, and general care areas.

Requirements

  • A blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and independent work habits.
  • Graduation from a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • CRT credential with requirement to acquire RRT credential within 6 months.
  • NH RCP License.
  • AHA BLS certification.
  • NRP certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum Required: Graduate of CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy Program with clinical rotations covering all age groups and aspects of respiratory care.
  • Preferred/Desired: 1 year of acute care hospital clinical and diagnostic experience.

Education

  • Minimum Required: Graduate of a CoARC Respiratory Education Program.
  • Preferred/Desired: Bachelor's degree from an advanced level education program.

Training

  • Minimum Required: Age-specific criteria and training in at least two age populations.
  • Preferred/Desired: Training experience in multiple age populations.

Special Skills

  • Minimum Required: Basic computer skills, assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills, arterial puncture, mechanical ventilation, critical thinking skills, and good communication skills.
  • Preferred/Desired: Advanced assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills, ventilator management skills with all age populations, intubation skills.

Licensure and/or Certifications

  • Required: NH RCP License, RRT credential or CRT credential with credentialing to RRT within 6 months, AHA BLS, NRP within 90 days.
  • Preferred/Desired: ACLS, PALS.
