About the role

The Respiratory Therapist performs patient treatments based on physician orders and departmental policies, working independently across acute and critical care settings. They consult with healthcare professionals, recommend treatments, and manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, and blood gas analysis. The role involves patient and family education, accurate documentation, and adherence to infection control protocols. Collaboration with the healthcare team and communication with supervisors are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• BLS certification
• Other unit-specific certifications as required
• Skills to treat patients across all age groups, including neonates to geriatrics
