Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT)-PRN

About the role

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) on a PRN basis to join their team. The ideal candidate will apply the Respiratory Care process, interact effectively with patients, significant others, and other healthcare team members, and maintain high standards of professional Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Administration of respiratory medications.
• Oxygen therapy.
• Arterial Blood Gases.
• EKG.
• Ventilator management.
• Pulmonary Function Study.
• Airway management.
• Chest physiotherapy.
• Troubleshoot equipment.
• Proper chart documentation.
• Patient education.
• Patient confidentiality.
• Development and implementation of care plans.
• Cleaning of equipment.
• Compliance with hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Adherence to standards of performance, age-specific competencies, and annual in-services.

Requirements

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory School.
• Current license as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Certified Eligible Therapist.
• Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible Therapist.
• Current CPR Certification (Infant, Child, and Adult).

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Thorough knowledge of all respiratory procedures.
