Job Overview
This position will provide respiratory care in all patient care settings. This position's Duties include, i.e., the administration of all respiratory care therapeutic modalities, management of mechanical ventilation, and the assessment of the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy administered REP. Additionally, these practitioners will assist in the clinical education of Respiratory Therapy Students and participate in such diagnostic activities as ABG procurement and analysis, bedside pulmonary function testing and hemodynamic and other noninvasive procedures.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
- 1 - 2 years experience in a related field
- Knowledge of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Physiology and other sciences related to respiratory care and relevant Pharmacology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) NBRC Registry or RRT upon hire
Job Responsibilities
- Performs all necessary documentation, updates work lists, and submits all charges by the end of the shift
- Performs ventilator management for neonates, adolescents and/or adults
- Manages the Respiratory Evaluation Protocol Program
- Performs airway management/oxygen administration and O2 titration protocol
- Performs treatment and diagnostic modalities - HHN, P&PD, MDI, IPPB, ABGs, PEFR, EKG's, induced sputum - for neonates and adults
