The Role
- Manage a daily caseload of assigned residents, performing assessments, treatments, and documentation as the respiratory therapy lead on the floor.
- Work closely with nursing and the broader IDT, and report changes in respiratory status directly to the Directors of Nursing and Respiratory Care.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Review resident assignments each shift — vitals, current treatments, symptoms, and recent changes
- Conduct focused resident interviews and physical assessments of pulmonary status
- Perform lung capacity evaluations, blood gas analysis (O2/CO2), and other respiratory diagnostics as needed
- Execute and adjust treatment plans in line with care plan priorities and physician orders
- Document all assessments, interventions, and communications in Point Click Care (PCC)
- Communicate respiratory status changes to nursing leadership and physicians in real time
- Carefully coordinate care with the IDT — nursing, therapy, social services, and dietary
- Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and emergency safety protocols
- Schedule and communicate with the IDT regarding care needs

Requirements
- Active CRT or RRT credential — Colorado-authorized, unencumbered
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory experience in a skilled nursing or acute care setting
- Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Working knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to function effectively in an IDT model
