Respiratory Therapist
About the role
The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role requires active participation in patient care, initiating and assisting with respiratory care procedures, responding to emergencies, and managing patient care plans.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and assists with respiratory tests and procedures as ordered
- Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports mechanically ventilated patients
- Prepares and recommends appropriate care plans to physicians
- Schedules treatments and consults with the patient care team
- Administers respiratory therapies according to policies and procedures
- Makes regular bedside rounds and modifies treatment plans based on clinical responses
- Supervises respiratory therapy students and educates patients, physicians, and staff
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license (Massachusetts)
Qualifications
- Experience in Respiratory Care (0-1 years preferred)
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods
