Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of various methods of oxygen delivery and necessary equipment.
- Administers respiratory therapy treatments and monitors mechanical ventilators.
- Affords patient care, ensuring safety and reducing medical errors.
- Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and documents findings.
- Documents all relevant data and follows departmental forms and logs.
- Completes EKGs and performs clerical duties related to procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of different treatment modalities for various age groups.
- Ensures compliance with hospital policy and coordinates patient care.
- Treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
- Affords continuous assessment of patient respiratory status and treatment response.
- Utilizes patient-driven protocols and evaluates their effectiveness.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Wyoming State Respiratory Therapist License.
- BLS certification, required.
- ACLS certification, required within 1 year of position start.
- PALS or ENPC certification, required within 1 year of position start.
- NRP certification, required within 1 year of position start.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Experience: Current Wyoming State Respiratory Therapist License.
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NRP certifications.
- Skills: Effective communication, strong written and verbal skills, basic computer knowledge, ability to use respiratory therapy equipment.
Additional Skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
