About the role

Sentara Health is hiring Full Time Registered Respiratory Therapists for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. Day shift and night shifts are available. Both experienced therapists and new graduates may qualify. CRT credential holders are also encouraged to apply. Full-time, part-time, and PRN roles are available.

• Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School and houses the Sentara Heart Hospital, Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence and specializes in heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, women’s health, and a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required
• Non-degreed applicants with RRT credentials obtained prior to January 1, 2006, and graduates of military respiratory therapy programs with RRT credentials will also be considered
• Active state license required at time of hire
• Active NBRC RRT credential required at time of hire
• BLS certification required at time of hire
• New graduates: must have state license and BLS at time of hire; must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date

Pay

Base pay range for full-time employment: $37.61 – $55.27 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Actual compensation within the range varies based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
