Respiratory Therapist

About the role

Sentara is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Full Time position with third shift hours in Harrisonburg, VA. Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for full-time qualified candidates and up to $10,000 for part-time qualified candidates is offered. Relocation, moving allowance, and housing allowance are available for candidates outside the area.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care services to patients in accordance with medical orders and standards of practice.
• Assess patient needs and develop and implement treatment plans.
• Monitor and record patient progress and responses to therapy.
• Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to determine appropriate course of treatment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Non-degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006, and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials may also be considered.
• State Respiratory license and NBRC RRT certification required at time of hire.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• New graduates must obtain NBRC RRT certification within 6 months of hire.
• One year of Respiratory Care experience preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
